Eileen McKendry-Gray
Eileen joined Turley Legal as a consultant in June 2024, after having spent 10 years in industry as a group general counsel and, prior to that, several years in a UK Top 50 regional firm in England. Eileen qualified in 2005 in Northern Ireland and is also qualified to practise in England and Wales.
Her time in industry has given Eileen an insight into the commercial world from the client’s perspective, where pragmatism and a commercial mind are key.
As a result, Eileen has considerable experience across a broad range of fields. In addition to corporate, finance and M&A matters, Eileen’s principal areas of expertise are commercial contracts and business services with a particular emphasis on intellectual property and technology:
software development (SaaS, PaaS, ASP)
IP cross licensing/monetisation
corporate IP restructuring
research and development, product development including prototypes
manufacturing and distributionmedia, creative e-projects and e-commerce
related regulatory fields, eg competition law, advertising and media and data protection.
Eileen also advises on strategy for registration of trade marks and designs and provides a full prosecution service which can be defensive or offensive depending on the issue at hand. She often works closely with overseas counsel to help ring-fence, protect and enforce clients’ intellectual property rights.
In her spare time (what is that?), Eileen is a trustee on the boards of the Cecchetti Society Trust, Second Chance Ballet and Six Dance Collective: all charities and not-for-profits aiming at the furthering of classical ballet and creative collaboration.
